The Cost of Veneers – By Location

The cost of veneers varies greatly. One of the major factors affecting the cost of veneers is location.

Factors such as population density, per capita income, average household spending and number of dentists are all location factors.

For example, states with high population densities will have higher veneers cost.

The Cost of Veneers Vary By Location

California is your typical densely populated state. It is also quite well known as a vanity capital.

Dental charges including cosmetic dentistry fees are on the higher side.

A lot of the California residents do seek dental care and it is one of the states with the highest rate of cosmetic dentistry, for obvious reasons.

The type of materials used for veneers is usually top of the range too.

For these reasons, the average cost of veneers in California is at $1500 per tooth.

States like Texas and Florida will have about the same cost of veneers as California due to the similarity in their populations.

In Iowa for instance, the cost of veneers may average $800 per tooth for porcelain veneers.

Iowa is a low fee state. States with similar prices will include Kentucky, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Nebraska and Arizona.

States in the South-east and the Mid-west will typically have lower cost of veneers.

The Cost of Veneers and Dental Tourism – Is It Worth the Risk?

In a country like Mexico, veneers cost is likely to be less than half of what is available in the United States.

The difference in cost is because of the lower operational costs dentist bear in Mexico.

In the United States, dentists are required by law to take malpractice insurance which necessarily increases the cost of treatment.

Dentists in Mexico are not required to take this type of insurance.

For this reason, many people are opting to participate in what is called ‘dental tourism’ and get their veneers done across the border.

It is however very important to carry out extensive research on the best dentists in Mexico.

It is important to go to a dentist with very high hygiene and infection control standards.

Cost of veneers is high in Europe too, in places such as the UK, Sweden and Norway.

However, in countries like Hungary, costs are much lower with similar standards like in the UK.

The veneers cost is a significant factor to consider when thinking of getting veneers.

An important thing to remember is that location is not the only determinant of cost.

Other factors come into play such as materials used (there are different grades of porcelain), the type of bonding material that will be used, the dentist’s experience (how many years he has been doing veneers and where did he go to school), the laboratory technician’ skill and many other factors.

These are some of the basic factors which will determine the cost of veneers.
